Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
First Man Ventures ("First Man Ventures," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to firstmanventures.com and any forms or communications we provide through it, and to the FMVDial business phone application described in its own section below.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide to us directly, such as when you submit our contact form. This may include:
- Your name and email address;
- Your phone number, if you choose to provide it;
- The contents of any message you send us; and
- Your indicated preferences, including whether you have opted in to receive SMS / text messages.
We may also automatically collect limited technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, for security and to operate the site.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about partnerships, opportunities, and services;
- Send you text messages if you have expressly opted in (see the SMS / Text Messaging section below);
- Operate, maintain, and improve our website; and
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse.
SMS / Text Messaging
If you provide your phone number and check the SMS consent box on our contact form, you expressly consent to receive text messages from First Man Ventures at the phone number you provided.
Types of messages
The text messages we send may include updates, appointment reminders, and customer-care messages related to your inquiry or relationship with us.
Consent is not a condition
Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of any purchase. You may submit our contact form, and use our services, without agreeing to receive text messages.
Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Opting out and getting help
You can opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. For assistance, reply HELP, or contact us at hello@firstmanventures.com.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
FMVDial Application
FMVDial is our internal business phone application. It is used by First Man Ventures colleagues to make and receive calls, send and receive text messages, and manage voicemail on phone lines we operate. It is not sold or offered to the public, and accounts are issued only to our own personnel — there is no sign-up.
This section applies to two groups of people, and our obligations differ between them.
If you call or text one of our lines
You do not need an account and you never sign in. When you contact one of our business numbers we process the following so we can answer you and keep a record of the conversation:
- Your phone number, and your name where we already hold it or a carrier caller-ID lookup returns it;
- Call records — the numbers involved, the time, duration and outcome, and which colleague handled it;
- Call recordings, and written transcripts and short summaries generated from them;
- The content of text and picture messages you send or receive, including attachments;
- Voicemail recordings and their transcripts; and
- Any opt-out you send, and where consent was captured through one of our forms, the consent record and submitting IP address.
Call recording
Calls on our business lines are recorded, and those recordings are transcribed and summarised automatically. We use them for quality, training, and to resolve questions about what was agreed. Where the law of your state or country requires notice or consent before recording, we give that notice at the start of the call. If you would prefer not to be recorded, tell the person you are speaking with and we will make other arrangements.
If you are a First Man Ventures colleague using the app
We process your name, work email, role, the lines you are assigned to, a per-install device identifier, your device type and app version, your availability status, and an audit record of sensitive actions — for example playing back a recording, or a supervisor listening in on a live call. This is used to route calls to the right person, to operate the phone system, and for security and accountability. Supervisors can see who is on a call, listen to a live call, speak to you without the caller hearing, or join the call; every use of those features is logged with the time and the person who used it.
Permissions the app requests
- Microphone — required to carry voice calls, and used for recording and transcription as described above. It is not accessed outside a call.
- Photos — only when a colleague attaches an image to a message, and only the image chosen. The app does not browse the photo library.
- Notifications — so incoming calls ring and new messages are surfaced while the app is closed.
FMVDial does not collect location, does not read personal contacts, and contains no advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
Service providers used by the app
We do not sell any of this information and we do not share it for advertising. We rely on the following providers, each only to operate the phone system: Twilio (carries calls and messages and stores recordings and media), OpenAI (transcribes call and voicemail audio and generates call summaries), Anthropic (classifies inbound calls so robocalls can be blocked), Apple and Google (deliver notifications to the app), Slack (where a conversation is mirrored into our own internal workspace), and our hosting and database providers. Call and message records are also recorded in our own internal customer-relationship system. These providers operate in the United States.
Retention and your choices
We keep call records, recordings, transcripts and message history for as long as we need them for the business relationship, our records, and our legal obligations, after which we take reasonable steps to delete them. Opt-out records are kept for as long as we operate the line, because we need them to keep honouring the opt-out.
To stop receiving text messages from one of our lines, reply STOP to it. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, email hello@firstmanventures.com and tell us the phone number you contacted us on.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our website and communications, and only as necessary to provide those services to us. As stated above, mobile opt-in information and consent are never shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Data Retention
We retain the information you submit for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, maintain our business records, and comply with our legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Your Choices
- You can decline to provide your phone number or to opt in to SMS messaging.
- You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.
- You can request that we update or delete the information you have provided by emailing us at hello@firstmanventures.com.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information you provide. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of our website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
